My clinical style is conversational and egalitarian. My practice perspective is grounded in Analytical Psychology, the theories and practices developed by Carl G. Jung (1875-1961), a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. It is also informed by my training and experience in Object Relations theory, Ego Psychology, and Self Psychology, which are associated psychoanalytic perspectives and can compliment a Jungian approach.
I have had decades of experience in treating unwanted emotional responses (chronic depression, fear and anxiety, anger and aggression, compulsions, emotion dysregulation, intolerance of distress) and the intrapsychic conflicts from which they arise. I can help you address associated relational problems as well as internal, and often unconscious, impediments to personal development. I am also able to help you address, and resolve, frequently painful internal psychological experience that may aversely affect your ability to express and receive love and affection, to work to your desired capacity, and to achieve a sense of personal mastery in your interests.
My background and on-going interest in the fine arts also shapes my practice perspective. It is the foundation on which my exploratory approach to psychological intervention rests.
I maintain an open practice. I welcome everyone without regard to age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.
